About Naema
Naema Abraham has been a proud Skokie resident for 45 years. Arriving as a teenager with her immigrant family, she embraced the values that make Skokie special: safe neighborhoods, excellent schools, and a welcoming community.
Her dedication to public service led her to serve two terms on the Niles Township High School District 219 Board, where she worked to expand access to education, eliminate enrollment fees, and promote cultural inclusion through initiatives like the nation’s first accredited Assyrian language program.
Now, Naema is running for Skokie Village Clerk to bring transparency, accessibility, and representation to local government. She is committed to fostering stronger connections between residents and their government while ensuring Skokie remains a place of opportunity for all.
Skokie’s values of diversity, inclusion, and opportunity are deeply personal to Naema. From celebrating cultural heritage to fostering educational access, she has experienced firsthand the power of a community that lifts everyone up.
